WHERE DOES GOD SLEEP ?
Where does God sleep
when the world burns?
When mothers bury their children
and fathers carry silence like stones?
Does She weep behind the clouds,
Or whisper through the wind,
Trying to reach a deafened world
Too busy waging war to listen?
They say God is love,
But love seems too quiet
While hate screams through bullets and fire.
Where is justice?
Where is mercy?
Or have we locked God away —
In temples of greed,
In the rituals of pride,
In the doctrines that divide?
Maybe the true God walks barefoot among the broken,
Feeding orphans with Her own hands,
Cradling the forgotten in Her lap.
Unseen. Unnamed.
But always there.
And maybe — just maybe —
It is not God who has turned away…
But us. - GULSHA BEGUM
