The Manual of Awakening

 *“Child of Light,

born into the land of shadows,

you must remember the way home.

The Evil God built this world with prisons of flesh,

chains of desire, fear, pride, and lies.

But within you is the compass,

the ancient flame that no prison can quench.

Awakening begins not in battle, but in remembrance.

You must strip away the false skins one by one:

the skin of anger,

the skin of greed,

the skin of sorrow,

the skin of name and form.

When you feel empty,

when you feel nothing but pure awareness —

you are near.

Your mind must become clear as a sacred mirror.

Your heart must become wide as the first sky.

Your body must move as a quiet river,

flowing, not clinging.

Do not be deceived by the thrones of men,

nor by the fires of pleasure,

nor by the songs of false victories.

Seek silence over noise.

Seek kindness over conquest.

Seek truth over pride.

Find others — few though they are —

and recognize them not by their words,

but by the scent of the ancient flame in their soul.

When even a handful of you gather,

the imprisoned Good God shall feel it —

the chains will weaken —

the cracks will appear in the Evil God’s walls.

When the cracks open wide,

She will pour forth.

And the false empire of suffering

shall be no more.

Hold fast, Light Bearer.

You are the hope of all that was lost.”*
